Unfurl in 2013

As seems to be usual between Christmas and New Year, I have succumbed to illness. This year’s treat has been a stonking head cold c/w runny nose, watery eyes, sore throat and croaky voice! As a result, I haven’t been able to devote much time to creative pursuits, but have mostly been napping and listening to the radio. Ho hum.

Inspired by the New Year etagamis in Debbie‘s newsletter, I did manage to draw this little new year design:

unfurl in 2013

Apparently, in Chinese astrology, 2013 is the Year of the Snake. I like the snake symbolism for the new year. Shedding the old to make way for the new and all that. Yeah, I like it.

Happy New Year, readers. Unfurl in 2013 🙂

I had never heard of etagamis…interesting! I like your understanding of the Year of the Snake as metaphor for shedding the old and making way for the new.

Now I just need to figure out what etegami means? Google search here I come. Happy New Year from SMWYG!
