Keep on Sharpie-ing

It’s been a busy few days, but we have been continuing with the ICAD challenge. My cards have mostly involved doodling with Sharpies, with one sleepy collage:

icad # 8
icad # 10
icad # 11
icad # 12

I also invented a Picasso-style creature, using instructions from Carla Sonheim’s Drawing Lab book:

icad # 9

The boys have also kept up with the challenge – working in monochrome in contrast to my colourful Sharpie creations. I love Waif’s robot:

icad # 9

And Gman’s frozen landscape is pretty cool:

icad # 10

But my favourite has to be Gman’s invented creature, Bodalash. Isn’t he the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?!

I like your doodling. There’s such a neat variety.

  2. sewingforfun says:

Bodalash is great!!! Talented youngsters 🙂

  3. KBT says:

Love it all! Have you tried Zentangle? That became my fave doodling for a while 🙂

    • vivjm says:

Thanks – I do have a book on Zentangle, will dig it out again soon! I am not very good at following instructions though, which is why I tend to be kind of free form and inconsistent with my doodling!!

      • KBT says:

As am I typically but what I liked about the Zentangle is the sort of mindless aspect of some of them, expecially with the repeated strokes tangles. Doodle, repeat. Doodle, repeat 🙂 Keep on doodling! 🙂

  4. These are great! The “Time for zzz…” collage really strikes a chord!

  5. Gjeometry says:

Cute! I love doodling and have heard of Zentangle (from reader above) but have never tried it. It looks addictive. (p.s. winner has been announced for Pattern Pyramid)

Viv…I love your ICADs….and I’m a big fan of Gman 🙂 Is he your son? I must get some of those bright Sharpies…I like the black ones.

  7. Annemarie says:

I love the kids’ work and your circle one is my favorite of yours.

  8. Dianne says:

Love your icads…and your kids’ too! great robot…Sharpies are the best aren’t they?

  9. I don’t doodle, so I find your art very interesting and fun. I’m just now getting into Sharpies, but mostly on fabric. No need to leave a response here. I appreciate it, but I don’t look back, only forward (grin).

  10. Bodalash is very cool and I do like your sharpie doodles… almost enough to make me get mine out and have a play… xx

  11. I love your doodles. I also love the boys card. Doing ICAD with Victoria this year has been such a gift. I love all her cards, even her tired, low investment ones. Such a gift.

  12. […] Live. Grow. Nourish. Create – she roped me in with the hexies, but I stuck around for all the creativity! […]

I will reply to comments here on the blog, so please check back if you are looking for a response! I love hearing from you x
