The Love of Words

It looks like my “Chief Word Geek of the Family” role might be in jeopardy. Here’s what happened when Waif was left alone with the Banagrams bag of letters:

words in progress
words in progress on table
words finished
pleased with words

I was so gobsmacked (when did my little boy get so good at spelling?!?) that I even managed to bite my tongue when it came to the Americanised spelling of paralysed and patronising 😉

Another triumph for home schooling, I think. A pat on the back all round is called for.

Although I do hope you can manage to find a good moment/approach to explain to him about the Americans’ frequent inability to spell correctly, not to mention their trouble with proper pronunciation. 😉

  2. Andria says:

Wow, that’s impressive! A triumph for homeschooling, indeed!

  3. oanh says:

Waif’s words are very impressive! And he looks pretty pleased with himself. Do forgive him the American spelling; he had to use the ZZ somehow!

  4. Gjeometry says:

Wow! That is VERY impressive. I’m pretty sure he’d even beat Kitty at a Scrabble match. 🙂

  5. That’s fantastic – no wonder you’re proud. What a brilliant vocabulary. :o)

I will reply to comments here on the blog, so please check back if you are looking for a response! I love hearing from you x
