May Flower Madness?

Well, we certainly had a somewhat unusual flower-related start to the day today. Lying in bed at 6.30am, there was a knock at the door. Staggering down the stairs in our pjs, we opened the door to gentleman with a strong foreign accent, asking very politely if he might snip a few of the flowers from our lilac tree to take home to his wife!! We agreed, somewhat blearily, that that would be fine and no, we didn’t want paying, thank you. The fellow duly produced a pair of scissors from his pocket, snipped 3 or 4 blooms and was on his way. May flower madness? Certainly was a somewhat different way to start our day. Here is the said lilac tree:

If I were a man then yes I would but I would never knock on someone’s door at 630am unless it was an emergency!

I suspect it might be a bit of a hike, so I’d probably settle for somewhere closer by. 🙂

Well how bizarre is that! He wouldn’t have gotten such a nice response from me, I’m afraid, lol…

  4. Too funny! I am amazed that he asked and just didn’t snip and walk away that early in the morning. 🙂

I’m thinking maybe he was just heading home at 6:30 am, in which case he BETTER arrive with flowers in hand! 😛
